Mississauga is home to a number of clubs and groups, some exclusive and some all-inclusive. One such club is about to host its inaugural Member’s Evening.
The Wheel and Anchor Club is a community of Canadian’s who have a passion for travel, camaraderie, and wine! The former is the primary focus of the Club, hence the name. Members get together to discuss their travel experiences, future plans and dreams, and everything in between. The following is the official description for the inaugural Meeting:
“Our founder Gordon Dreger will make a few short presentations speaking about the benefits of membership as well as focusing on some of the highlighted tours of 2018 and 2019. These shall include:
- Caspian to the Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) – October 2018
- Treasures of Myanmar (Women-only) – March 2019
- Land of the Rising Sun: Japan – May 2019
- Czar’s Gold – The Trans-Siberian Railway – September 2019, amongst others.
Our venue, the Credit Valley Golf Club, kindly requests our members and guests to dress smart casual in accordance with clubhouse rules.”
As the description suggests, the Club doesn’t just talk about travel, it actually goes places as well. The Wheel and Anchor Club goes on trips every single year, and allows you to book your experience with the club – meaning you have an incredibly simplified method of travelling, seeing the world, and doing so with like-minded people from our neck of the woods!
This year alone, the Club will be going to India in Setpember, then across Georgia, Azerbaijan, Baku, and Armenia. It’s an incredible opportunity to see the world and do-so in a rather stress-free way, with as little effort on your part as possible. Check out the website for more information.
If any of this sounds appealing to you, come out to the inaugural Member’s Evening at the Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, which is located at 2500 Old Carriage Road. Tickets for the event can be purchased here. If you have a yearning to see the world, then take your first step this Tuesday evening at 5:30, with the Wheel and Anchor Club.
