Kage Nikkei Restobar will soon be open at 3038 Hurontario Street, unit 9. What really sets Kage Nikkei apart from just about every other restaurant in the city, is that it offers cuisine from various parts of the world, created using Japanese cooking methods. The primary culinary influences are Peruvian, and yes Japanese. The word “kage” is Japanese but it means “foreign”, so that gives you an idea of what Kage Nikkei is all about.

“At Kage you can expect to find a balanced menu of contemporary and comfort food, along with an outstanding signature cocktail menu”. And said menu is divided into four parts: cold, hot, desserts and sharing plates. The cold menu includes Beef Tataki, Tofu, Kage Slaw, and Sea Bass. The hot menu offers Purple Yam Fries, Blow Torched Salmon Escabeche, Yokozuna’s Sweet Roll, and more. While the sharing platters include DIY Braised Beef Tostada’s, Hot Stone Duck Fried Rice, Anticucho’s, and Katsu. And finally, the dessert menu simply includes ice cream and mini donuts.

As you can probably tell, Kage Nikkei doesn’t have the biggest menu, however the owners believe in mastering a few dishes, rather than offering dozens of mediocre ones. Kage Nikkei is perfect for vegetarians, as well as meat lovers, with a little something for everyone.
