As you well know, summer is ending. It’s a sad time for various reasons, like the loss of the fantastic weather and the many city-wide events, but it’s also a great time for more beautiful weather, scary movies, and pumpkin spice lattes! Before summer ends though, we have a few loose ends to tie-up.

One of which, is Celebration Square’s Movie Nights! The Square boasts the city’s biggest outdoor theatre screen, and it has put it to good use all summer long. Since May 25th, Celebration Square has showcased a free movie every single Thursday evening. The event is always one of the city’s most popular, and this week should prove to be no different.

The final movie of the season, on Thursday August 30th, is Marvel’s blockbuster hit, Black Panther! Check out the trailer below if you’re one of the few who didn’t see it in the cinema earlier this year:

Black Panther is one of the latest Marvel movies, having released in January of 2018, and it features the long-awaited story of T’Challa, the Black Panther. The titular character is played by Chadwick Boseman, and has become one of the most popular superheroes of modern times. The movie was an excellent visual and narrative spectacle that celebrated African tribes; their heritage and their customs, within the exciting Marvel Universe.

Starring alongside Boseman, was Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Fruitvale Station), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes), and Martin Freeman (Sherlock, The Hobbit). The movie was critically acclaimed, scoring 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a massive commercial success, making over $1.3 billion at the box office.

So come out to Celebration Square this Thursday night. At 7:30pm, before the movie, there will be live music by DJ Khaled I, and then the movie will commence at 8:00pm. Bring a chair or some blankets, some snacks, and enjoy the final movie of the season!
