Carassauga is coming to Streetsville! Visit the Canada Pavilion and experience Canada…like never before!

Now in its 33nd year, Mississauga’s Festival of Cultures, invites visitors to travel the world without leaving the city. This year, visitors can stamp their passports at 32 pavilions across the city representing over 70 countries.

“The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139 Streetsville is delighted to host the Canada Pavilion,” says Pavilion Chair Brad Butt.  “We look forward to providing an unparalleled Canadian experience over the weekend and are thrilled that Streetsville will be the home to Canada again this year!”

The three day event will begin Friday May 25th at 7pm. Guests will be welcomed to a sea of red and white and the sounds of The Streetsville Pipes and Drums to open things up. The first 200 guests will receive a FREE cowboy hat!  Why not start your Carassauga adventure in Canada so you will be sure to get yours!

Festival goers are encouraged to visit the Canada pavilion all three days!

On Friday evening, come out and kick up your heels to some great Canadian music.

Sharing the stage will be Canadian fiddle rockers, Fiddlestix and then to close the night, popular Country Rock Artist Marshall Dane. It’s sure to be a great show!

You also won’t want to miss east-coast favorite Screeched Inn who will perform Saturday at 9pm

The pavilion will also showcase many activities for the whole family all weekend long; An Indigenous cultural tent, an interactive art project, line-dance lessons, workshops and many interesting exhibits and displays. Festival Coordinator Karen Cecy also tells us “Air Canada has graciously partnered with the pavilion, and is giving away a FREE trip anywhere Air Canada Flies in North America. Ballots are in your passports, but the only ballot box is at the Canada Pavilion, so stop by to get yours in!”

While you are there, make sure you don’t miss the Anne of Green Gables exhibit and the Winnie the Pooh kids’ reading corner upstairs.  You can also watch a locale chef prepare a truly Canadian classic “The Jiggs Dinner” – and even take home the recipe. You may also want to try your hand at the citizenship quiz, or just take a few minutes to relax and take in some great Canadian talent on our licensed patio – Whatever way you choose to spend it, you’re bound to have a great day!

Oh and don’t forget to come hungry!  There will be lots of fabulous Canadian food to fulfill those cravings including Tim Horton’s Coffee, Smoked Meat sandwiches, Alberta Beef Burgers, Butter Tarts, Maple Treats, Back Bacon on a bun and Poutine.

So join us as we experience, explore and celebrate, this amazing country, we call home!
