It’s heart-warming to see people from all over our fair city coming together to spread Christmas joy, and lend a hand to others in need. And there’s no shortage of opportunities to get involved and help your fellow man this season.
Speaking of seasons, the Mississauga Steelheads may be third in the Central Division right now but they’re first in spirit! On Friday December 14th, the Steelheads will be hosting the annual Toys for Tots game!
This year’s event marks the 26th year the Toys for Tots program is in effect, and the partnership between the Steelheads, The Ontario Hockey League, and Canadian Tire, has proven to be a big success every single year! Toys can be placed in the donation bins in the front foyer of the Hershey Centre, and representatives from Peel Regional Police will there to accept cash donations.
The Steelheads will be going toe-to-toe with Saule Ste. Marie Greyhounds. The game itself will be worth watching, but the Toys for Tots fundraiser is even more reason to come. You can help support Toys for Tots by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy, a monetary donation, or Canadian Tire money. There will also be a “teddy bear toss” and a special puck drop, so you can expect a great night all around.
The game begins at 7 PM to 10 PM at the Hershey Centre (5500 Rose Cherry Place). If you’re interested in attending the game, you can purchase your tickets here. We hope to see you at the Hershey Centre on Friday night for some great sports action and some festive cheer.
