It’s a bittersweet time ladies and gentlemen. That’s because it’s that time of week again when we tell you all about the next movie coming to Port Credit’s J.C. Saddington Park this weekend, but it’s also the last movie of the season.
Yes it’s hard to believe but we’ve already reached the end of the 2019 movie in the park season and that’s sad. However let’s now wallow for long because the Rotary Club has saved something rather magical for the last showing of the year. A sequel to a timeless classic that, in its own right, will become a tradition. Check out the trailer below:
Mary Poppins Returns was a film that released in November 2018 and, to the surprise of many, was actually very good. Starring the chameleon Emily Blunt as the iconic Mary Poppins, the movie had a lot to live up to. It isn’t often a sequel can be as good as the original, and even less often when that sequel comes decades later and stars new actors. Yet Mary Poppins Returns absolutely nailed the landing, umbrella and all.
The premise is a simple one: “Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives.” However Mary Poppins Returns is a fantastic, family-friendly movie that is sure to have you leaving J.C. Saddington Park with a smile on your face.
As always, we recommend you get there early to ensure a good spot, and remember to bring some blankets and chairs if you wish. There is popcorn available in the park, provided by The Rotary Club, and we implore you to buy some to ensure that these movies are back again next year. And that’s it for the 2019 season, we hope to see you in the park for one last night of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious fun – and no, I didn’t use Google to spell that!
