We’re reached the Rotary Club’s first movie of August, and it’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through this year’s movies in the park. Rather than dwell on that fact however, let’s rejoice that we have four more movies to go!
This week’s movie is a special one, Star Wars: The Last Jedi! Episode 8 of the mainline Star Wars movies released last December and made a staggering $1.3 billion at the box office. If you’re one of the few people on Earth who didn’t go see it, or you did and simply loved it, check out the trailer below!
The Last Jedi picks-up where The Force Awakens left off, as Rey seeks training from Luke Skywalker, Poe continues to be a thorn in the side of The First Order, and Finn wakes from a coma and sets off on an adventure with a new friend. In typical Star Wars fashion, it’s a thrilling ride that spans various planets and bears some of the series’ best action scenes.
The movie stars Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Laura Dern. The Last Jedi holds an amazing 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, as critics adored the new and exciting directions the movie takes the series.
While we wait another full year for the final Episode, you can catch-up or relive The Last Jedi this weekend in Port Credit’s Memorial Park. The movie will begin at dusk, weather permitting and is, as always, free! Remember to bring some snacks and a blanket or some folding chairs and enjoy the movie!
