The summer brings with it a number of things; from the sweltering heat to the myriad of events that take place across the city. However it also signals the return of a favourite event amongst Port Credit locals; the farmers market!
That’s right, the Port Credit Farmers Market returns this Saturday (June 8th) from 8 AM to 1 PM. Let’s hear a little about the market from the organisers:
Come enjoy Port Credit’s Farmers Market each and every Saturday morning from June 9th to October 6th 2018. Open 8:00am to 1:00pm in the parking lot at the corner of Lakeshore Road East and Elmwood Ave.
This is the best place in Port Credit to buy fresh local produce straight from the grower. Vendors also sell items such as honey, eggs, maple syrup, sauces, and much more!
Our Farmers Market also has weekly live music, demonstrations and a new group of artisans each week. The kids will love the drop-in crafts.
So, as the excerpt suggests, the Farmers Market is the premiere place to go on Saturday’s for fresh produce of all kinds. That means every type of fruit and vegetable you could possible want, but it also means lot of incredible homemade delicacies like bread, honey, soup, jam, tea, coffee, garlic, cheese, gourmet pies, and even natural treats for your dog.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, then make your way to the parking lot by the Port Credit LCBO, which is right across the street from the plaza with the Salvation Army store and such. If the prospect of delicious, natural food from local purveyors wasn’t appealing enough, there will also be live music to accompany your perusing.
