It’s not all that easy to be a vegan. I’m not one personally but I have known vegans and vegetarians, and I’m fully aware of how difficult it is to eat out. Us meat eaters take for granted that we can walk into any restaurant and there will be lots we can choose from, but it’s completely different for vegetarians, and even worse for vegans.
Thankfully, things are certainly becoming easier for alternative diets and taste buds. Mississauga has a handful of options in this regard, be it Raw Aura, Masala Bites, Burrito Boyz, or Dai Bi Chay but that’s still a long way from the literal hundreds of non-vegan friendly restaurants. Well the good news is, the scale will become a tiny bit more balanced in the near future. Mississauga will soon be home to a new vegan restaurant, called Copper Branch.
Copper Branch is a super popular vegan restaurant in Toronto, Quebec, Waterloo and various other locations, and we’re excited to have it coming to Mississauga. The restaurant will be opening later this year in the Heartland Town Centre, and here is the mission statement:
Our mission is simple: serve our community quality, whole foods and offer the world real food as fast-food for a change. We’re getting back to basics; serving healthy and wholesome foods and offering real food energy with the focus of promoting health and vitality, great taste, convenience, and responsibility. These are power food meals you can trust and feel great about eating.Health and disease have increasingly become modern worries, and continuous studies are proving the negative links between meat, typical fast-food, GMO, and lack of exercise to various diseases and health implications. Our founder was inspired to change this and make plant-based nutrition convenient, accessible, and, most importantly, great tasting.
It’s hard to argue with that. If you’ve ever watched Food Inc. on Netflix, you’ll definitely be inclined to clean-up your diet and know where your food comes from. And going to a restaurant like Copper Branch will achieve just that; healthy, organic foods with no BS.
Copper Branch offers burgers, sandwiches, soup, chilli, fries, poutine, soy wings, salads, all-day breakfast, smoothies, desserts, coffee, and power bowls. With the power bowls, you choose your base of rice, quinoa, noodles or lettuce, then add protein in the form of tempeh, smoked tofu, teriyaki, carrot keftedes or tofu scramble. The rest of the bowl is made up of eggplant, chickpeas, kimchi, spinach, beets, guacamole, tomatoes peppers, capers, and plenty more; depending on which bowl you’ve chosen. You’ll be hard pressed to find a healthier, tastier meal.
Copper Branch is an awesome new option for vegans, vegetarians, health nuts, and food lovers alike. It’s set to open sometime this year in Heartland Town Centre, and I for one will give it a shot!
