It’s pride month, not just here in Mississauga, but across the free world. That means folks from every spectrum of the LGBTQA+ world are coming together to celebrate in an a myriad of rainbow coloured parades, activism, marches, and parties. Well, Mississauga is no stranger to these things and you’ll be able to celebrate pride, no matter your gender or sexual orientation, on July 14th!

On Saturday July 14th, at 12:00 PM, the East Mississauga Community Health Centre will be hosting a Pride BBQ event. The event will consist of games, prizes, live performances of song, dance, acting, spoken word, and more. It will be a show for all the family with non-stop entertainment for all.

In a stroke of great news for local performers, the event is currently seeking more acts for the show. If you’re a singer, dancer, poet, musician or have a talent, call 906-602-4082 and throw your hat in the ring. This rings especially true for the LGBTQA+ community, as the event organisers want people from the community to bring their talent.

Of course, no BBQ event would be complete with a barbecue that includes great food, from burgers and ribs to hot dogs and fries. It should be a tasty affair and of course, the food is free. Once again, everyone is invited to join the fun. The event is being hosted by the East Mississauga Community Centre, which can be found at 2555 Dixie Road #7, and there will be parking available at the community centre. Come one come all to the annual Pride BBQ event and be sure to wear something colourful!
