Dylan’s Candy Bar, The Spectacular Confectionery Emporium Favoured by Oprah, Opens At Pearson Airport.
Dylan’s Candy Bar, the renowned confectionery emporium that boasts such famous fans as Oprah, the Obamas, Madonna, Janet Jackson, David Beckham, and Tom Cruise, announced the opening of its store at Pearson International Airport Terminal 1 in Mississauga.
The Pearson Airport location is the brand’s first foray into Canada. In the coming months, Dylan’s Candy Bar will expand to 81 Hudson’s Bay locations and at least eight outposts at luxury retailer Holt Renfrew.
The Pearson Airport 1,100 square-foot spot has more than 500 products, a chocolate station, and sells dozens of varieties of candies, and other confectionery-themed products. The brand is also well known for its lifestyle merchandise, and at the Pearson location will sell such products as travel gear and other accessories.
The store was founded by iconic fashion designer Ralph Lauren’s daughter Dylan in 2001. Dylan says she was inspired in this venture by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which in in 1971 was made into the much-beloved film, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Considering the brand’s inspiration point, it’s no surprise that the stores evoke a fantasy world where everyone can embrace their inner child. The stores’ ambiance is a mash-up of pop art, fashion and pop culture with imaginative confectionary creations.
Dylan’s Candy Bar has recently embarked on a global extension, targeting busy, cosmopolitan locations that are a fit with its high-profile brand. Pearson International Airport is Canada’s busiest airport. In 2015, 41 million passengers travelling all over the world passed its gates.
Lucky Mississaugans flying somewhere for that very “sweet” holiday, Easter, can now stock up on all kinds of mouthwatering confections at Dylan’s Candy Bar, at Terminal, near Gate D20.
