Filipino food is some of the best and most unique you will find in Mississauga. It’s growing in popularity too, as we’ve seen a half a dozen Filipino food joints open in the past few years. Well, another one has just joined the fray but this one is a little different.
Halo Halo Foods just opened last month at 1085 Fewster Drive and it serves all-day breakfast. There’s the Longonisa Sausage Breakfast, which is Spanish spiced sausage with garlic rice, three eggs and a buttered Pandesal bun; Pinoy Breakfast Sandwich, Eggs, Diced Longonisa, cheddar cheese, onions, red peppers all blanketed in a toasted Pandesal bun; or the Milkfish Breakfast, Traditional Crispy Milkfish served with garlic rice, three eggs and buttered a buttered Pandesal bun. Each of these breakfast options costs less than $10!
Beyond the breakfast menu, you can find a handful of regular options, two of which include: Sisig Smash Burger, Two porky patties, topped with fresh ginger, garlic, green onions, lime, adobo mayonnaise and crunchy chicharron, between a toasted bun. served with a side of fries; Adobo Chicken Sandwich, Grilled chicken marinated overnight with great grandma’s adobo sauce recipe, atchara (pickled papaya), adobo mayonnaise, toasted bun with a side of fries. The most expensive of these options is a mere $11 – good eats, good prices!
There’s also a quick menu that includes onion rings, poutine, beef empanada, veggie springrolls, and Ube fries. Halo Halo Foods also offers bubble tea, milkshakes, lemonade, iced tea, coffee, and the most popular option: the Halo Halo. The signature dessert consists of shaved ice and evaporated milk, along with some coconut, fruits and more. It’s a super colourful dessert that would prove popular with kids and foodies.
If you find yourself dying for some delicious Filipino cuisine, you should try Halo Halo Foods. However, if you’re jonesing for some Halo Halo goodness, you don’t even have to leave the house as they offer Skip The Dishes and Uber Eats. It couldn’t get any easier!
