For those of you who’ve always dreamed of going to Japan, we’ve got some great news both for your travel dreams and most importantly your wallet. You won’t need to go to Japan, as Japan is coming to you.

You heard that right, as Mississauga is hosting the Japan Festival 2019 on August 24th from 12:00PM – 10:00PM and August 25th from 11:00AM – 7:00PM. This is a free event that will be located right in Celebration Square. The best part is there is no admission cost, so you can go in free of charge.

For those of you who may not be familiar with this event, this is a chance to celebrate and discover the cultural heritage both within the Japanese-Canadian community and abroad. In fact, this year the festival will be celebrating the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan.

Here is what you can expect at the festival; the square will be transformed into little Tokyo, as a variety of internationally known Japanese artists, singers and other performance acts showcase their talent on the stage. The food will be truly authentic featuring Japanese staples like sushi, and the famous custard cones.
