Looking for something new to do this weekend? Well The Rec Room at Square One is hosting an activity that you might think is corny on the face of it, but keep an open mind and you’ll have a new favourite hobby.

As you know already from the title, we’re talking about karaoke at The Rec Room. Karaoke is something of an underrated pass-time. Getting a group of friends together and going singing on stage in front of strangers is surprisingly exhilarating and addictive. Check out the description from The Rec Room:

Ever wanted to sing in a band? Good Enough Live Karaoke are here to make your rock and roll dreams come true!

Choose from a list of over 300 songs from various genres and eras. The band (featuring guitars, keys, bass, drums and sometimes saxophone) will call you up on stage when it’s your turn. They provide you with lyrics, a microphone, and BAM you’re a star!

Karaoke At The Rec Room

Live karaoke at The Rec Room takes place at 9:30 PM on August 9th. It’s a free event for everyone, but you’re probably gonna want to buy a few drinks beforehand to gain some Dutch courage.

Which won’t be an issue because The Rec Room is also a huge entertainment and restaurant complex. So before you launch your singing courage, you can head to Three10 or The Shed, the restaurants within The Rec Room. Just be sure to get there early enough to guarantee your spot and play a few games beforehand. Make it a night!

If you’re looking for something fun to do this coming weekend, you should head to The Rec Room and sing your lungs out. You can attempt a classic like ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ with a real live band, which makes for one of the best karaoke experiences in the city. Have fun!
