One of our favourite things about summer in Mississauga is the free movie showings that take place throughout the city. As such, we’re incredibly excited to tell you that the Rotary Club is bringing back movies in the park to Port Credit next week!
Friday, July 5th, will mark the return of the annual tradition to Port Credit’s Memorial Park. This year there will be seven movies being showcased, the first of which is How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Check out the trailer:
The third instalment in the How To Train Your Dragon series sees the return of the beloved duo: Hiccup and Toothless. The plot of this movie works as a capper to the series: “When Hiccup discovers Toothless isn’t the only Night Fury, he must seek ‘The Hidden World’, a secret Dragon Utopia before a hired tyrant named Grimmel finds it first.”
Much like the first two films in the franchise, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World was met with critical acclaim upon release. The movie currently holds a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is said to be a great film for children and adults with a touching storyline.
The cast of the third How To Train Your Dragon is immense to boot; Jay Baruchel (This Is The End, Tropic Thunder), Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings, Thor: Ragnarok), Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), Gerard Butler (300), and Jonah Hill (Superbad, The Wolf of Wall Street).
The latest How To Train Your Dragon is just the first movie in the upcoming line-up by the Rotary Club. Check back each week for the next showing. And don’t forget, the Rotary Club’s movies in the park are free for everyone. That means you can head to Port Credit’s Memorial Park with nothing but a deck chair or a blanket and enjoy the show. To ensure more years of great entertainment however, we recommend buying some popcorn. The movie will commence at sundown, so around 8 PM. See you there!
