Enjoy music? Then you are bound to love free music! As we’ve said many times here as of late, Summer in Mississauga is all about live music, celebrating cultures, and socialising. The onslaught of entertainment shows no signs of stopping, and we’re here to tell you about the next series worth attending.

Another musical event is happening all month long at Celebration Square, the home to all cultural events in Mississauga. Every Wednesday in August, local musicians will play an acoustic set at the Upper Square, free to everyone! The event is essentially an open mic night, meaning any local talent can come and partake (see below for registration details).

Each of the acoustic sets take place from 8:00 PM until 10:30 PM, on their given days. And what exactly are those days? Well check out the listing below for each date and the host for that evening:

Date and Host:

Wednesday, August 8: Matthew Hinojosa

Wednesday, August 15: Clark Schlesinger

Wednesday, August 22: Isaac Eng

Wednesday, August 29: Christopher Hummel

These free musical nights are a fantastic way to showcase and support local musicians. There are no restrictions on who can play, so if you fancy yourself imbued with musical ability, feel free to come to Celebration Square and show what you’ve got. Any local artists that would like to perform can RSVP in advance with the Mississauga Arts Council by calling 905-615-4278 or emailing member@mississaugaartscouncil.com.

There’s something happening almost every night at Celebration Square, and now we’ve got your Wednesday nights covered as well. Come to the Square, sit, relax, eat some food, and enjoy some great music from your neighbours! Next stop, Busker Fest!
