If you’ve been longing for an event that is classy. Something that is just a little bit more sophisticated than the usual events that take place in our fair city. Well we think we have the event for you.
Downton Abbey Tea is returning to Benares Historic House this weekend! The themed afternoon tea features at Benares House every few months and is incredibly popular with locals. As the name suggests, the event is inspired by the British television show about the posh Edwardian aristocracy.
You can join the fancy tea fun on Sunday September 9th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and you’re encouraged to dress-up in your fanciest formal wear!
As well as the exquisite tea, you will also receive a tour of the amazing Benares Historic House. Here is the official description of the event, which does it much more justice:
“Join us and discover the “upstairs and downstairs” stories of the Harris and Sayers families and their domestic staff. Tour the house with guides who will highlight the lives of the family during the war years. Enjoy a traditional cream tea with tasty treats and a variety of teas while discussing the love interests of the Crawley women and the goings on below stairs. Don’t forget to wear your best hat and gloves, historic or contemporary!”
The Benares Historic House is a beautiful farm house that was built in 1830, so the tour alone is worth the visit. If you want to attend the event, reservation is required, so call 905-615-4860 ex 2110 to book your place.
Benares Historic House can be found at 1507 Clarkson Road North. Come join the themed fun on Sunday afternoon and practice your best English accent!
