Warmer Weather Is On Its Way.
Sitting on a patio sipping a glass of wine or having a meal is one of those warm weather rituals everyone looks forward to. Now that spring seems to be dipping its toe in Mississauga, Saugans will soon be on the hunt for a patio to call their own.
There are lots of restaurants and bars in Mississauga that offer outdoor seating. But if you want to spend those glorious moments in the sun while enjoying a certain resto vibe, consider these picks:
On The Waterfront
This seafood bar and grill has a waterfront patio next to the Port Credit Marina. The vibe is very resort-like, so the place is a big draw for local denizens, and often busy. But somehow one does not mind the surrounding bustle and din—just looking out on the lake and watching the boats roll in feels like a mini-vacation.
New in town, this Italian cucina’s outdoor bar also looks out on the Port Credit Marina. For those wishing to have a meal and a “patio-like” experience, the indoor dining hall has floors-to-ceilings windows that offer the same water view, sans the waterside breeze and/or UV rays.
The Waterside Inn’s picturesque patio is the perfect place to relax; enjoy a refreshing beverage and a delicious meal. Visit their patio to experience the beautiful view of the lakefront, while being in the centre of the action on Lakeshore Road’s main strip.
Cozy, Leafy, But Still In Town
This charming Italian resto has an equally charming patio at the back. Although the restaurant is situated on the busy Lakeshore Road, the patio at the back is surrounded by trees. It feels intimate and conducive to any secret convo.
Rocking, Hip And Above The Street
This pub has an upstairs patio with a very “kick-back-and-enjoy-your-beer” vibe. Added bonus? Live music and dancing inside in the evenings.
Rocking, Hip And On The Street
There are several of these hip and snazzy restos with patios in the Port Credit neighbourhood of Mississauga, mostly along Lakeshore Road, between Hurontario and Mississauga Road— The Port Credit Social House, Fired Up BBQ, Door Fifty Five, and El Jaffe, to mention a few. Just walk along that part of Lakeshore, take your pick, take a seat and indulge in watching the passerby’s. Most of the restaurants abut each other on what becomes a lively summer board walk along the street.
Off The Beaten Path
This gastropub at the corner of Hurontario and Eglinton offers a patio surrounded by lush greenery. Settle in for a selection of craft beers and upmarket pub food.
Located in the Sawmill Valley Creek area Glenerin Inn offers multiple patio and outdoor dining areas along with a real view of nature. No traffic noise or exhaust fumes…just fresh air, peace and quiet.
Next to the Hilton Meadowvale Mississauga Hotel, Chop Meadowvale’s patio has a cool sophisticated ambiance, complete with outdoor fireplaces. The place’s speciality is Sangria – that quintessential summer cocktail!
Gabriel’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city! Gabriel’s spacious garden patio seats about 70 people. Surrounding the patio is lush foliage providing shade and creating the atmosphere of a garden oasis!
Streetsville’s Historical Main Drag
This pizzeria and Southern Italian resto has a 30-seat patio, sheltered by a tomato red canopy and outfitted with wrought iron furniture. The added bonus? It’s in view of Streetsville’s main stage, the site of live performances throughout the summer.
Front and Centre at City Centre
City Centre’s Square One is surrounded by restaurants with lively, convivial patios— Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar, Bier Markt, Earls Kitchen + Bar to mention just a few. Favourite pick? & Company. It has a rooftop patio that is unique to the area.
There are plenty of venues in the city to indulge in al fresco dining or kicking back with a beer, enjoying the warm spring and summer weather. Now, all we need is for that weather to finally make itself completely at home in Mississauga!
