Carassauga Festival of Cultures, May 25 -27, Will Take You To Countries Around the World Without Ever Leaving Mississauga!

Ever dreamed of experiencing the culture of dozens of countries around the world without ever stepping outside of Mississauga’s borders and paying next to nothing?  Well, your dream has come true.  Mississauga’s Carassauga Festival is kicking off its 3-day global tour on May 25 at the Hershey Centre.

This year this largest Ontario multicultural event features the food and culture of over 50 countries presented in 32 Pavilions in 10 locations all over the city.

Your passport to this global tour of food, music, fashion, art and history of all these countries can be purchased at various locations throughout Mississauga, including libraries and online at http://www.carassauga.com. The price?  Only $10.  Kids under 12 get to do this globetrotting for free.

As a passport holder you’ll have unlimited in-and-out privileges to all 32 pavilions, entertainment on 22 stages, and free travel on MiWay and Carassauga buses between all pavilions, the Hershey Centre and Square One Transit Terminal.

Carassauga is welcoming a few new countries to this year’s event:   Colombia, Ecuador, Jamaica, Kyrgyz Republic, Mexico, Peru and Trinidad & Tobago.  This year’s festival also offers a unique chef experience. Chefs will be providing cooking demonstrations and preparing specialty cultural dishes at pavilion locations.

And make sure to get the Toonie Taste experience.  For just $2 you can get small sample plates of authentic ethnic dishes from Canada, Cyprus, the Philippines, Lebanon, Poland, Ireland, Brazil, Iraq, Portugal, Korea and India, to name just a few.

Carassauga, Ontario’s largest multicultural community festival, is aimed at promoting understanding, respect and co-operation among Canadians of different backgrounds—while having fun galore!

“The festival is special because it lets people learn of the various cultures found within Mississauga. If you haven’t yet been to Carassauga, or just haven’t gone lately, grab your camera, bring your appetite and prepare to experience an amazing trip around the world without leaving the city!”
