One Fifty One. What does that mean exactly? What it (151) means is the number of years the nation of Canada has been an “official” country. And as most Canadians already know – and if you aren’t aware – that July 1st was the day it happened making it the Great White North’s birthday.

While many events will take place in and around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) – Canada’s largest city/ metropolis – for those in Mississauga, an enormous event in its own right will be taking place right in your backyard. You can celebrate Canada’s 151st birthday with “your favourite artists and 100, 000 new friends” at Mississauga’s Celebration Square, which will take place from 2:00 – 10:30 PM on July 1st, 2018 of course. So if you are in the area or able to make it you do not want to miss the festivities.

The Celebration – which is sponsored by Tim Horton’s – will be Hosted by ET’s (Entertainment Tonight) Sangita Patel and is headlined by multi award winning artist, Magic!, who will be joined on stage by Allie X and William Prince.

Proceedings “at the square” will commence with an afternoon of kids activities at Camp Canuck, and we also have to give a hearty thanks to Camp Canuck Partners:

-InsuranceHotline.com

-Maple Lodge Farms

-Monkeynastix

Food trucks, roaming entertainment, busker stage, crafts and giveaways will also be offered by Camp Canuck.

Throughout the day things will continue to be live as “World renowned Canadian scratch DJ” Kid Koala who will keep the crowd entertained as he will have music pumping well into the night.

You will also have the opportunity to join Mayor Bonnie Crombie who will make an appearance and will take part in the “Official Ceremony” at 4 PM in the afternoon as she will participate in the Canadian Citizen reaffirmation oath. And the night will be capped off with a fireworks finale which will be provided by Tim Horton’s.
