What’s better than a local, award-winning business with nice, genuine owners? One that serves pastries of course!
That’s exactly what Lorne Park boasts in in the form of Le Delice Pastry Shop. The delightful bakery is located in the Lorne Park plaza that also hosts Battaglia’s grocery store and Anytime Fitness. Amazingly, Le Delice is actually Mississauga’s oldest running pastry store, having originally opened in 1988. That means 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of Le Delice, and it is more popular than ever!
The store was purchased three years ago by Kinda Aleid, who redesigned the inside and out, making it look more modern but retained the atmosphere and quality it was known for. Some may remember the old blue and yellow outdoor sign, with the oak-coloured furnishing inside. Now the sign is an emerald colour with a rolling-pin design, and the interior has a nice charcoal wood finish. It’s a fresh, modern look and one that befits the evolution of the store. The management and aesthetic may have changed but the heart of Le Delice remains the same.
Le Delice specialises in sweet cakes, pies, croissants, tarts, cookies and even chicken pies. And they only use fresh whole eggs, sweet butter, 35% whipping cream and the very best Belgian chocolate.
In terms of pies, Le Delice offers a mouth-watering array, which includes Apple Crisp, Double Berry Clafouti, Keylime Flan, Peach Blueberry, Rhubarb Peach, Strawberry Rhubarb, Bread Pudding, Plum Almond, and Peach Pie with Pecan Streusels. All of the pies are made with great ingredients and would be perfect for a party, whether that’s a birthday, anniversary, graduation or whatever the circumstances.
The bakery also creates some wonderful cakes, particularly right now for the summer months. These cakes include Strawberry Mango, Lemon Chiffon, Strawberry Shortcake, Fruit Cheese Cake, Opera Cake, Triple Chocolate Millennium Mousse Cake, and Dark Chocolate Mousse. You can’t go wrong with any of those incredible options, however I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend the Dark Chocolate Mousse cake, it is a sight to behold with various layers of chocolate cake and mousse, as well as a ribbon of hazelnut chocolate wrapping around, and intricate flower designs on top. Mouth-watering right?
As mentioned, if you’re looking for a quick sugar fix or something for a get-together, you can opt for some soft, fluffy croissants, sticky apple tarts, or one of many light and crispy baked goods. The cookies are also fantastic and Le Delice serves up some great coffee to accompany all of these.
All of that food would be a good enough reason to come to Le Delice in Lorne Park but the reason people return is the service. For years, Le Delice has serviced the Lorne Park community with incredible friendly workers and an atmosphere that makes you feel truly welcome. This is perhaps the true reason that Le Delice has stood the test of time and continues to be a thriving business.
Seeing as Le Delice is indeed a place to grab food, we’ll do what we do for restaurant spotlights, and show you some reviews. These reviews are from real people who’ve reviewed the store and helped it reach its impressive 4.6 stars on Google Reviews.
One of Lorne Parks hidden treasures. They have an amazing selection of fresh baked goods. My husband didn’t know what a great scone was until he tried these. Before Le Delice, he only knew of Tim’s scones. Le Delice scones are like a taste of Heaven. Soft, and fluffy, paired with a cup of coffee it’s the perfect start to my day.

This place is the reason I gained roughly 60 pounds in four years because I walked past it every day on my way home from Lorne Park HS. The cookies will make you seriously consider selling your soul and first born for more when you run out. The croissants… Oh my gosh, don’t get me started. The service is always chipper and friendly, the owner is a doll, love this place. 6/5.

A great bakery with daily special scones. Their butter tarts are some of the best around. The people are pleasent and the seats out front are great to stop and have a quick baked good as you leave. Oh the oatmeal cookies are the best of any bakery for miles!

Absolutely the best bakery I’ve ever been to. Hands down they have the best quality baked goods. Their croissants are amazing – the best I’ve ever had. Their service is fantastic, always super friendly and helpful and the owners are a blessing. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on Mississauga’s best bakery.

It’s fair to say Le Delice is pretty popular. Of the many positive reviews, the four negative ones on Google were in regards to the price. As is always the case however, you get what you pay for and Le Delice delivers high-quality baked goods for similar prices to other local bakeries.
Le Delice is a long-running and beloved business in Mississauga’s beautiful Lorne Park. People come for the incredible pastries but return because of the delightful service. Our city has a plethora of bakeries and pastry stores but few of them stand the test of time like Le Delice and it’s for a good reason.
