As with another series “Health Series”  here at yoursauga.com, what its purpose or what it aims to do is inform the public of the many aspects of a specific topic. So if you are familiar with the Heath Series then you would be aware how it is done.

To those who are unfamiliar we’ll give you a brief explanation. The Celebration Square in Mississauga will host different events on their Big Screen, and each entry into this Series will document each event the facility will bring to the residents of Mississauga and to the general public as well who are not in the region and would like to partake.

The first installment in this iteration will be dedicated to art.

Taking place on Mondays this summer at 8:00 – 10:00 PM from May to September 2018, each Monday will feature the art and possibly other works from an artist/ painter or a group of artists/ painters etc. which will be featured on the Big Screen at the Celebration Square. So depending on the artist(s) you are interested in and/ or would like to see as well as the type of art that appeals to you or you deem as fascinating, one – or more – of the Art On The Screen events could be for you.

These events are free and as part of the Series they “present innovative digital, screen based works by local, regional and national artists on their large public screens”. The work selected is based in three streams – Partner Events, Community Programming & Juried Artworks. Community Programming includes local groups such as the Mississauga Independent Film Night, Sheridan College and the Mississauga Youth Film Festival.

Partner events have included Art Gallery of Mississauga, imagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival, Lunch Inc., Vector Festival, InterAccess, Media Architecture Summit, Vice TV, Toronto International Film Festival, TUFF, and Reel Asian and the PanAM / Parapan Games.
