Reds Square One

First, Toronto’s famous financial district, then its bustling downtown core, and now Mississauga’s Square One!  Reds Wine Tavern, and upscale-casual restaurant with a great following, has just opened its third location in one of the largest shopping centres in Ontario.

Square One does not want for great places to eat, but if you like your wine, Reds has an extensive list of sparkling, red, white and rose wines, domestic and imported.  It also offers shareable dishes, and “from-scratch” eats—freshly baked bread, ground-in-house burgers, and homemade apple pie.

Gastropub-like menu includes beetroot hummus, truffle tries, tinga chicken tacos, Peruvian shrimp ceviche, wild mushroom soup, khao soi lobster bowls, burgers, lobster grilled cheese, 20 oz. ribeye steaks, and fresh fish.

The ambiance?  Very on trend but relaxed, filled with restored furnishings, and anchored by a mosaic-inspired floor that— according to the restaurant’s description on Square One’s website— is “Instagram gold.”

When you can spare a second away from your food and wine to look up, you’ll see sparkling chandeliers and walls lined with eye-catching decor elements like haute couture shoes.

Another unique feature of this newly opened resto?  You can pretend to be a cocktail mixologist for an evening.  You get to choose your own ingredients to make a gin and tonic you’ve always wanted!
