Looking to diversify your fast-food experience? Tired of the old hamburger and French fries fare?
Then you’ll be interested to find out that a new Sri Lankan quick-service restaurant has recently opened in Mississauga.
Sri Lankan food is similar to South Indian cuisine, but has its own distinctive flavours and dishes.
Staples include boiled or steamed rice, served with a curry of fish, chicken or mutton, along with other curries made with vegetables, lentils, or fruits. And let’s not forget the other cornerstone of Sri Lankan cuisine: all kinds of bread (both sweet and savoury), especially the roti style flatbreads.
SLS Eazy Carry’s website promises that their “… mission is to have our customers explore the different flavours we bring to the plate and broaden [their] taste buds.” And looking at their menu, they do just that.
The menu includes many zesty Briyani curries to choose from, sweets and breads galore, and a variety of traditional Sri Lankan breakfast dishes that are really all-day-breakfast items or side dishes: Dosa (rice pancakes) and Idly (savoury rice cake bread), as well as Pittu (ground rice layered with coconut), and String Hoppers— a unique rice flour dish made in noodle form and steamed.
