Is your anniversary is fast approaching? Your significant others birthday? Valentine’s Day? A big first date? Maybe you just want to treat your partner to a nice night out. Well, wherever you take them is a pretty big deal and can determine the success of the date.
That sounds like a lot of pressure but the good news is; Mississauga has lots of great locations for the appropriate occasion. We’re counting down five of the best date night locales in the city, each offering something different and ranging in price.
Dine & Chill – Average Entree Price: $20
(90 Burnhamthorpe Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5B 3C3)
Dine and Chill Restaurant in Mississauga’s city centre is the newest eatery in the city. In fact, at the time of writing it’s not even officially open! That being said, you can go and eat at the restaurant right now but it’s operating under a limited menu in lieu of a soft opening. The official opening is coming sometime in September but why wait?
Dine and Chill, obviously a play on the Netflix & Chill craze, is a fantastic new Asian fusion restaurant that offers such delicacies as red wine ravioli, a spring roll platter, sushi, and the perfect date option: lobster for two. Why not impress your date by taking them to Mississauga’s hottest new restaurant, before it even opens?!
Raw Aura – Average Entree Price: $15
(94 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1L3)
Raw Aura is one of Port Credit’s most special restaurants, because the menu is entirely raw and vegan.
You might not be a vegan, nor is your partner, but Raw Aura is for far more than just vegans. The menu is designed to surprise your taste buds and emulate tastes you know with food you’ve never even touched. It’s quite amazing and sure to be a conversation-starter between you and your date.
Spice Lounge & Tapas – Average Entree Price: $16
(52 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1E1)
Spice Lounge is located in the heart of Port Credit, right at the intersection of the CIBC and The Pump. Spice is a small restaurant that you could easily miss but one that you’d be negligent to pass-by.
The unassuming exterior leads to a surprisingly ornate and romantic interior that will no doubt surprise many. The candles and deep red theme create a warm and inviting atmosphere that is only compounded by the usual presence of live music. As far as the restaurant itself is concerned, Spice Lounge is probably the most romantic you could find in Mississauga.
Alioli Restaurant – Average Entree Price: $25
(350 Burnhamthorpe Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5B 3J1)
Aliolo Ristorante has been a Mississauga staple, serving as a upscale date night location since 1996! However in recent times the restaurant has gone under renovations and looks a lot more modern and elegant.
Aliolo is a classic Italian restaurant that serves all the classic dishes you would expect; pizza, antipasto, risotto, steak, and more. On top of that, Aliolo offers a mindbogglingly huge wine list, with bottles costing as low as $19.
You might come for the food and the wine but you’ll stick around when you take a seat on the serene patio. Dare I say a perfect night?
Snug Harbour – Average Entree Price: $24
(14 Stavebank Rd S, Mississauga, ON L5G 2T1)
Snug Harbour will often creep up in restaurant lists and for good reason. Located in Port Credit, Snug Harbour is one of Mississauga’s most recognisable and well-known restaurants.
Snug’s menu is varied but most will go there for the seafood, for which the marina restaurant is best known. You can order anything on the menu and you’ll be satisfied but you absolutely must order a dessert – my personal recommendation is the chocolate lava cake, which even sounds romantic.
However it’s not all about the food. As you can see in the picture above, Snug Harbour is easily one of Sauga’s finest restaurants because of its location. Taking your date out to the harbour and sitting along the scenic wooden patio is sure to make a heck of an impression.
